10 PYROMANIACS UIC Pyromaniacs continues to grow as the official student fan section for all Flames sporting events. The group has developed thanks to member involvement, online presence on social media, and a student rewards mobile app. The Pyros spark the fire at UIC sporting events, building an atmosphere for the student-athletes. In the fall, the Pyros traveled to Loyola in three packed buses to cheer on the men's soccer team in the NCAA Tournament. To kickoff UIC basketball season, the Pyros hosted the second annual Student Preview Night. Over 250 students stopped by the UIC Pavilion to get a glimpse of the the men's basketball team before the season started. This year, for the first time, the student section upgraded to the floor seats. Each game, 30 lucky Pyromaniacs got the chance to sit right next to the UIC bench in the Pyros "Hot Seats." For a thrilling win over Youngstown State, the Pyros teamed up with Theta XI to create "ESPN gameday coverage" in the student section. During the heart of the Horizon League schedule, the Pyros hit the road to catch a overtime win against the Milwaukee Panthers. The Pyros rounded out the year with a weekend trip to Detroit for the Horizon League Men's & Women's Basketball Championships. The Pyros cheered both teams to victory with a sea of red, fatheads, chants and cheers at Motor City Madness.
