25 TRACK & FIELD Shaun Wollenweber set a UIC record in the indoor triple jump at 15.25 meters. He won both the indoor and outdoor triple jump competitions at the Horizon League Championships. He was named the Co-Field Athlete of the Meet at the Indoor Championships, where he also placed fifth in the long jump. He won the event four times during the outdoor season. Shaun Wollenweber and Brixton Rill qualified for the NCAA Championship west regional preliminary competition. Wollenweber competed in the triple jump, while Rill represented UIC in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. Rill was the first distance runner in UIC program history to qualify for the NCAA prelims. MORE SCHOOL RECORDS FALL Kyle Hauser set a school record in the indoor mile race, crossing the finish line in 4:09.65 to break the previous record by nearly three seconds. Competing in the 4x100 relay, Shaun Wollenweber, Jordan Munar, Emmanuel Onoh and Martin Hunter broke the school record, finishing with a time of 41.21 seconds at the Benedictine Relays. The women took the top spot at the Crusader Open. The 4x100 relay team crossed the line first. Individually, Janeka Stokes won the high jump while LaTreesha Washington won the pole vault. The men's team placed second at the Crusader Open and Illinois Twilight meets. The men's outdoor team finished fourth at the Horizon League Championships with a score of 101 points, their highest output since 2010. The Flames placed three in the top five in the long jump as the 4x100 relay team finished second and the 4x400 relay took third. Michael Crepeau captured third in the decathlon, while Davis Hallberg and Pawel Klimek took second and third, respectively, in the pole vault. Lizzie Deutsch won the 5000 meter race at the Marquette Duals, with Michelle Borycki right behind her in second. Both runners set personal records in the event. Alimot Lawal was a double winner at the Edmonds Invite. She took first in the 100 and 200 meter sprints, and added a second place finish in the long jump.
