INTERACTIVE LEARNING: Mannequins, gar-
ment racks and accessory displays outfit the
North Miami fashion lab's retail space behind
a glass storefront window. Software programs
enable students to virtually design retail stores
and marketing materials. A task table, where
students can experiment with fabrics, com-
pletes the room. It's tailor-made for JWU North
Miami students interested in learning about the
real world of fashion merchandising.
But that's not all: North Miami students in busi-
ness, sports/entertainment/event management
and golf management have similar new spaces.
All senior-level business seminars are in a rede-
signed classroom featuring an executive-style
conference table and LED TVs tuned to business
news around the globe. Modeled after a corpo-
rate boardroom, the space is designed to foster
group work among business majors.
The new SEE and Golf Management Center is
home to a state-of-the art golf simulator and
putting green, as well as multipurpose meet-
ing space that can serve as a classroom and
accommodate events on a small stage. In the
works are an editing studio and an LED ticker
showcasing the latest developments in sports
and entertainment news.
