MEN'S HOCKEY

Welcome to Movember

awareness
he hockey world is no
stranger to facial hair.
Since the early 1980s
and the New York Islanders'
four-consecutive Stanley Cup
championships, playoff beards
have been part of the escence
of hockey.
In recent years, Movember has become a more philanthropic reason for hockey
players to grow facial hair.
This year, the Wisconsin
men's hockey team is taking
part in the tradition by growing moustaches. We've seen
them during recent postseason runs for the Badgers, but
now it's for a cause. Team
captain Frankie Simonelli has

set up a web site to help raise
money through the global
charity "Movember."
From the web site: the charity encourages men to join the
movement by growing a moustache for the 30 days of November. These generous Mo Bros
start the month clean-shaven,
then grow and groom their
Mo (slang for moustache),
asking friends and family to
donate to their efforts. With
their new moustaches, these
Mo Bros bring much needed
awareness to men's health
issues by prompting conversations wherever they go."
