ranked opponent in Madison,
where the Badgers have a 6-00 ledger so far in the 2013-14
season.
In addition, Wisconsin has
won its past 10 games at LaBahn dating back to last year.
UW head coach Mark Johnson
credits the Wisconsin fans for
creating a home-ice advantage.
"Everybody's certainly very
comfortable and having an atmosphere
of having a crowd and having some energy in the building is probably the biggest
asset," Johnson said. "When we score a
goal, there's energy in the building that
certainly helps us out."
There has been a lot of energy in LaBahn Arena this year, as Wisconsin has
outscored opponents 27-4.
This year's Badgers have also been
very balanced, with 13 different players lighting the lamp during UW's eight
games this year.
"It has been a good team effort," Johnson said. "We are getting a lot of contributions as far as scoring, and certainly
our goaltenders have played well and
our special teams have been good.
"If you put all of those things together
you are generally going to have success."
Four of the Wisconsin freshmen have
found the back of the net this year, including Mellissa Channell and Mikayla
Johnson, who each scored their first
collegiate goals last weekend in Lindenwood.
"It seemed this weekend that a lot of
people got their first Badger goals and
excited for those players individually,"
Johnson said. "The thing I enjoy not only
with our freshman class but the entire
group, they come to the work every day.
"They're enjoying what they're doing,
they're enjoying the process and when
we start practicing even in our games,
they compete at a real high level."
