THE DAYNE GAME
NOVEMBER 13, 1999: Wisconsin tailback Ron Dayne became the NCAA's all-time leading rusher and the Badgers earned a spot in the Rose Bowl with their 41-3 win over Iowa at
Camp Randall Stadium. Dayne, who rushed for 216 yards, broke the record formerly held by
Texas' Ricky Williams on a 31-yard carry at 4:32 of the second quarter. He finished with 6,397
career yards (bowls not included). Madison mayor Sue Bauman declared Nov. 13, 1999 "Ron
Dayne Day" in honor of his accomplishment.

OCTOBER 23, 2010: A perfectly-executed fake punt by Brad Nortman and a
touchdown dive by RB Montee Ball in the closing minutes propelled the 10thranked Badgers to a dramatic 31-30 win over No. 13 Iowa at Kinnick Stadium.
The win came one week after UW knocked off No. 1 Ohio State in Madison and
helped the Badgers secure their first Big Ten title since 1999.
THE STREAK COMES TO AN END
NOVEMBER 8, 1997: Despite losing RB Ron Dayne to an injury in the first quarter, the Badgers snapped an 18-game winless streak against the Hawkeyes by
claiming a 13-10 win over No. 14 Iowa on Homecoming at Camp Randall. The
victory is UW's first over Hawkeyes since 1976.
GOING TO THE AIR
NOVEMBER 18, 1995: Badgers QB Darrell Bevell completed a school-record 35
passes (on 51 attempts) in a 33-20 loss to Iowa. Matt Nyquist caught 13 of Bevell's passes to set a school record for most receptions in a game.
