In his 6-2 decision over then-No. 10 Mike
McClure of Michigan State, Medbery did not
allow McClure to score an offensive point.
By staying aggressive and keeping a high
pace, he added, ���I can use my speed and
quickness.������
It also can be about confidence. ���My confidence is growing as the season goes on,������ he
said.
There are a couple of factors that have accelerated his development.
For one, Medbery redshirted as a true
freshman.
���That gave him a chance to mature a little
bit more as a heavyweight,������ Davis said.

This past summer, he competed in the Pan
American Junior Championships in Guatemala.
Medbery won the gold medal at 120
kg/264.5 pounds in helping lead the U.S.
team to gold.
���I got to wrestle different guys with different styles,������ he said.
