5 THINGS TO WATCH FRIDAY / SATURDAY • 7 / 7:30 PM • FSN / BTN Putting the Border Battle on ice The Border Battle between Wisconsin and Minnesota hits the Kohl Center ice as the Badgers entertain the No. 1 Golden Gophers. Junior defensman Justin Schultz is coming off a three-goal performance at St. Cloud State and has a nine-game scoring streak. Friday's game will be on FSN while Saturday's will be broadcast live on BTN. SATURDAY • 12 PM • InsideBadgerSports.com The first real test The men's basketball team officially opens the 2011-12 season Satur- day afternoon as the Badgers welcome Kennesaw State to Madison. Wisconsin looks to win its 10th-straight season opener. The game will air live on InsideBadgerSports.com and be shown on a tape-delay by BTN at 1 p.m. on Nov. 15. SATURDAY• 2:30 PM • BTN Don't forget to pack the Axe The Badgers renew the most-played rivalry in the FBS on Saturday as they travel to Minnesota. Wisconsin has won seven-straight games, its longest winning streak in the Border Battle series. Paul Bunyan's Axe has been awarded to the winner since 1948, and Minnesota has never won the trophy in TCF Bank Stadium, their home since 2009. SATURDAY • 6:30 / 10 PM • BTN A Big Ten Icon among us In 16 seasons as head coach, Barry Alvarez led the Badgers to three Big Ten titles, three Rose Bowl victories and turned the football program into a national powerhouse. He compiled a 118-73-4 record and is the only Big Ten coach to win consecutive Rose Bowls. BTN profiles Alva- rez's incredible run in the latest edition of the "Big Ten Icons" series. SUNDAY • 1 PM • BTN Even in replay, 13 is sweet The men's cross country team won its 13th-straight Big Ten champi- onship last month by posting a near-perfect score of 17. The Badgers claimed five of the top six finishing positions, including Mohammed Ahmed's individual title in meet-record time.
