BY THE NUMBERS In its first visit to TCF Bank Stadium, UW beat Minnesota to keep Paul Bunyan's Axe in 2009. 1:01.19 1995 WOMEN'S SWIMMING Senior Ashley Wanland owns the third- fastest time in the nation this season in the 100-yard breastroke with her time of 1:01.19 from Saturday's dual with Arizona State. Wanland won all four of her individu- al races last weekend in Arizona. MEN' SOCCER The Badgers fin- ished the Big Ten tied for second, their highest finish since 2006. With a 4-2 record, they recorded the program's most conference wins since 1995, when the Bad- gers won the NCAA championship. 14 ยป VARSITY NOVEMBER 10, 2011 7 FOOTBALL The Badgers have won seven- straight games against Border Battle rival Minnesota, their longest winning streak in the 120-game series. The Battle for Paul Bunyan's Axe is the most- played rivalry in the FBS, dating back to 1890 and has been played every year ex- cept for 1906. 86 VOLLEYBALL The defense stepped up Sun- day against defending NCAA champion and sixth-ranked Penn State, recording 86 digs in a five-set win. It was the first win for the Badgers over Penn State since 2006, when UW upset the No. 2 Nittany Lions.
