Four Nations schedule » The Four Nations Cup kicked off on Wednesday with Canada taking on Finland and the U.S. playing Sweden. Thursday has Canada and the U.S. squaring off at 8 a.m. (CT). The U.S. then plays Finland and Canada plays Sweden on Saturday as the tournament takes a break on Friday. Sunday concludes with the gold medal and bronze medal games.
North American domination » The Four Nations Cup, held every year since 1996, has never seen Sweden or Finland claim the gold medal. Only once did the gold medal game not include the U.S. and that was in 2001 when Team USA sat out from competition fol- lowing 9/11. In the fifteen years of competition Canada has won 12 gold medals and the U.S. has won three, with the last one coming in 2008.
