'' BADGERS Ask The Question of the Week: What is one rule change you would make to your sport? MIKE BRUESEWITZ • JUNIOR • MEN'S BASKETBALL "If a shot is blocked from a weak-side defender after a foul is called, the player should still be credited with a block. If the shot goes in after a foul is called, they count the basket, and the same goes if the ball is goaltended. So why wouldn't they count a block if it prevented the shot from going in?" MADISON PACKER • SOPHOMORE • WOMEN'S HOCKEY "The change I would make would be to allow checking in women's hockey, because I think it would help speed up the game. Part of the reason why men's hockey is faster is because the players have to skate with their heads up, and it forces them to make quicker decisions with the puck." COLIN MANI • SENIOR • MEN'S SOCCER "One thing that I would like to change in soccer is the use of instant replay in goal- scoring situations. The amount of times there are questionable calls on whether the whole ball has crossed the goal line or not results in a lot of controversy in the game. With the use of instant replay in those types of situations, it would eliminate the problem and make for a more accurate game." 16 » VARSITY NOVEMBER 3, 2011
