UW and UND meet on Saturday at 2 p.m. before wrapping up the series on Sunday with a 3 p.m. tilt. A 54 // VARSITY January 9, 2014 During the 16-game unbeaten streak, which started on Oct. 18, the Badgers have outscored opponents 59-14 and have posted six shutouts during the streak. UW's special teams have been specatular during the run, converting on power play opportunities 28.3 percent of the time, while killing over 91 percent of its penalities. W, 3-1 W, 4-0 2 p.m. 3 p.m. The Badgers also enter this weekend with another impressive streak as winners of their past 14 home contests. The streak is not only the longest in LaBahn Arena history, but is the second-longest run ever at UW. With a win against UND on Saturday, the Badgers would tie their school-record 15-game winning streak set during the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons. Wisconsin faces a tough test at home, as North Dakota is third in the WCHA standings behind UW and Minnesota, who are tied at the top of the rundown. Wisconsin had North Dakota's number in the last meeting, taking five of six points on the road during their series Nov. 2223. U.S. OLYMPIC TEAM ANNOUNCED ● Four former Badgers were named to the U.S. Olympic team last week: forwards Brianna Decker, Meghan Duggan and Hilary Knight and Jessie Vetter. It marks the second Olympic Games for Duggan, Knight and Vetter, while Decker will make her Olympic debut. Decker, Duggan and Vetter all won the Patty Kazmaier Award, given to the nation's top player, during their UW careers, while Knight is the alltime leading scorer at UW The quartet will be joined in the Games by fellow UW alum Meghan Mikkelson, who was named to the Canadian Olympic team.
