BADGERING MICHAELA CRALL A 6-foot-3 forward from Olathe, Kan., freshman Michaela Crall joined the Badgers following a high school career that included a league championship and a pair of all-state honors. Crall also was a member of the MoKan Eclipse AAU team, where she earned all-star team honors at the 2012 U.S. Junior Nationals following the Eclipse's National Division championship run. "Being a Badger has been incredible. My teammates are fantastic. I love the coaching staff. The fans are crazy. When walking around town, people say, 'Oh, you're on the basketball team, that's so cool,' Stuff like that's incredible. I love it." What has been your favorite part about being a Badger? "My favorite part about Madison is just the atmosphere of the town. I came from a pretty big town, too, but just being here, everyone just loves the Badgers. It's fantastic." What's your favorite part about Madison? "I just really want to contribute minutes to the team and help the team in any way I can." What are your personal goals for your freshman season? What are your expectations for the rest of the season? "Once we come together, I think we are going to be really good and do some great things, so I'm really excited about that." "My teammates are hilarious. Being around them, they make everybody so comfortable to be around and they're just a great time." What's your favorite part about your teammates? "Growing up, Tara VanDerveer and Pat Summitt are two great coaches I looked up to. I just love basketball and I'd love to coach it." What makes you want to be a basketball coach? "I think it would pretty close to how Coach (Bobbie) Kelsey coaches. Really calm, but very intense and she knows what she wants her girls to do."
