The win was the first over a top-five opponent for Wisconsin since sweeping No. 2 Penn State on Oct. 27, 2006. 1 p.m. 6 p.m. 6 p.m. 7 p.m. HICKEY NAMED DEFENSIVE POW ● Senior Annemarie Hickey was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, the second honor of her career. The 5-foot-8 libero tallied a season-high 27 digs in the Badgers' win Sunday, including seven saves in the fourth set. She also added 18 digs against Michigan on Friday to average 6.4 digs per set on the weekend. With her 27 digs, Hickey moved into third on the UW career record list with 1,554 digs. She passed Kim Kuzma (200710), who had 1,553 digs in her four years. Jocelyn Wack (2004-07) holds the UW career record with 2,182 digs while Susan Wohlford (1988-91) ranks second with 1,920. Hickey is also ranked third in digs per set with 3.93. Wack is the career leader with 4.81 digs per set with Wohlford second at 3.98. The Big Ten leader in digs per set as a sophomore and junior, Hickey currently averages 3.53 digs per set on the season.
