ALUMNI PULSE Hello awesome Mavericks! This has been a very productive year filled with many accomplishments! We have really turned up the volume with the alumni board of directors, making it an entity worthy of recognition from our community. Success breeds success and we have had many. We’ve made remarkable gains in alumni chapter activities, including a now complete manual on how to start, conduct and maintain an alumni chapter and our inclusion efforts have helped facilitate a greater connection between faculty and alumni. Our focus on student relations is leading the way for increased opportunities for internships, jobs, career development and training. And our events have risen to new heights; homecoming, concerts and seminars, all with an underlying theme of fun and networking! We have built a solid foundation for continued achievements, showing the entire state of Colorado our Maverick pride. This university has given us the necessary skills to be lifelong learners and the confidence to navigate our own paths. Please engage your family and friends, business associates and volunteer groups to be a part of OUR Mav family. I have been so honored and blessed to have had the opportunity to serve the Alumni Association. I am saddened my year as president is coming to a close, but I’m delighted to pass the torch to Tamara Krizman. She is a talented leader and I can’t wait to see all that she is excitedly planning to carry out. As I finish up, I am reminded of all of those who came before me: Michael, Quint, Scott, Stacey, Dan, Ky, Tawny and Karen, just to name a few. They each gave their all and I too believe I have given my best. I hope I have inspired everyone reading these letters to become purposeful in leaving your mark upon the world and to continue ensuring Colorado Mesa University remains one of the top universities in Colorado.
