"I'm not going to be Superman out there. I'm going to play a simple game — do what Coach tells me — and get back into the swing of things. I'm not going to be in game shape right away. Nobody can be. You've got to play games.'' Obviously now, I want to play some games, I want to be with my team.'' Kerdiles reaffirmed his commitment Tues- day by citing the UW facilities, the coaching staff and "great teammates'' as positives. "I couldn't leave this place,'' he said. "I loved it too much, and I still do. I said it at the press conference, and I'll say it again, there's no doubt that I belonged here.'' His Badgers teammates have made sure not to cut him any slack in the locker room, which has made him feel even more at home and comfortable with his situation. "They all still joke with me,'' he said, "and they've told me to keep my head up when I have those days when I'm upset with everything.'' The support has been plentiful. "And through all of this,'' Kerdiles said, "there have been a lot of good things that have come out of it; I don't try to look at all the negative things, I just look at the positives. A lot of people, a lot of old friends have been giving me support.'' That includes his billet family in Ann Ar- bor, Mich., where he lived two years while skating for the U.S. National Team Develop- ment Program.
