THAILANd RUSH For more information about Thailand Rush: www.thailandrush.com During the summer of 2014, a U12 boys Thailand Rush team trained and played against good local Thai teams. one of the core values of Thailand Rush is the pursuit of excellence in the game of soccer, in every available venue in Chiang Mai, throughout Thailand, and in Asia. This goes hand in hand of another core value of the Thailand Rush in that the pursuit of excellence can only be accomplished if the players involved are displaying a character above reproach, young men who honor God, and who honor others both on and off the pitch. As we wait for the U20 Thailand Rush season to begin in January, we track our former Thailand Rush players who are currently playing in college. Thailand Rush is very proud of three former Rush players who are excelling in college on the pitch, one at a Division I level, one at Division III, and one at the NAIA level. However, more importantly is the informa on that has been, and con nues to be wri en about them in the quality of character, which spills out of these three. It is no ceable to a point where those observing are wri ng about their character. And so, the young boys who trained and played for Rush this summer have heroes in the game, and heroes in life to live up to in terms of character. This is a visible example that Thailand Rush is succeeding in living up to the core values which have been set forth. We look forward to hearing more about these three young men, and about others to follow in their footsteps, as Thailand Rush con nues to develop the play and character of young people. TRINIDAD AND ToBAGo RUSH - FooTBALL Iq ACAdEMY Football Iq Academy youth clinic enjoys membership rise. TRINIdAd ANd TOBAGO RUSH For more information about Trinidad and Tobago Rush: www.rushsoccer.com During the months of August and September 2014, the youth clinic membership at Trinidad and Tobago Rush has increased due to posi ve referrals from parents and players. "While most youth clubs focus on a rac ng compe ve players who are already developed, we have created an environment that makes first me players feel welcome and confident," explains Technical Director Caleb De Souza. Addi onally, the training program and curriculum have been expanded to accommodate the unique needs of each developmental phase, resul ng in sessions being organized in progression and delivered through customized coaching strategies. A key aspect that has propelled the clinic's growth is the confidence that the parents have in the program and the exper se of the coaching staff. "It is very important for our coaches to keep abreast of best prac ces in youth development and understand different coaching methodologies," states Caleb. During the summer months, Caleb had the opportunity to be involved with two elite camps in Southern California where he assisted with the planning and delivery of the camp curriculum. It was a rewarding experience for both him and the players. According to the Camp Director, "It was a tremendous learning experience for the elite players to work with Coach De Souza." Football Iq Academy also benefi ed from the experience and look forward to working with Rush Soccer clubs in the future which will in turn assist in the development of the players in the academy in Trinidad. We can expect the clinic to con nue to grow; however, Caleb insisted that he will have to carefully manage the player-coach ra o in order to maintain the quality of the program.
