The match that challenged us most was the Craig Bellamy Founda on League Final Compe on where we managed to win 2-0. Presently the team is wai ng to play the under 14 Sierra Leone Football Associa on Na onal Final between DALLAN FC at Bo Town in late oc- tober. Currently, there is a state of emergency in the country now due to the Ebola epi- demic. As of now the team is not undergoing any training because of the deadly disease. The Ebola crisis has devastated Sierra Leone. The month of September alone, 95 people in Sierra Leone died of the disease, making it the deadliest month of the outbreak so far. More than 700 people in the country have died in total. The government of Sierra Leone has taken extreme measures to control the spread of Ebola. It has quaran ned more than a million people, and nearly a third of the country's popula on is now under curfew. Doctors and nurses in Sierra Leone are laboring heroically to combat the Ebola virus out- break, which is pu ng enormous strain on the limited healthcare facili es. Sierra Leone has fewer than 200 doctors serving a popula on of nearly six million people, ill-equipped hospitals and clinics, and a lack of transporta on resources and networks to respond to emergency situa ons. As of now none of our youth soccer players has come in contact with the deadly virus so far. Currently there are no ac vi- es taking place un l further no ce from the central government. RUSh SC SENIORS hEAdING fOR ThE dOUBLE Rush SC seniors have won their league season and have their sites set on the Cup Final to be played at the end of October. The Ebola virus continues to ravage the African continent and Sierra Leone Rush have been affected by the cancellation of pro- grams, but fortunately no cases of Ebola for members to date. RUSH EGOLI – SOUTH AFRICA For more information about Egoli Rush: www.africarush.com The Rush SC seniors are the 2014 Premier League Champions. They won this league in style with five games in hand over the second place finisher. Rush SC will also be par cipa ng in the Premier League Cup Final in late october when they take on Monash University FC. The beauty of our success this year is the fact that 99% of this team is made up of our young athletes who joined Rush South Africa four years ago in our Development Program. The players have worked well together and lost only one match and that was to Ruimsig FC (which is part of the Rush SC). Rush SC will now be promoted to the SAFA ABC Motsepe League which is the 3rd Division moving towards a place in our Professional Soccer League (PSL). We would like to win promo on to the PSL within 5 years. Louis Da Silva (Coach), Wolfie Gerhard (Manager) and Wesley Septoo (Captain) have done an amazing job leading these young players this year.
