"Basically, we're just relating to what's going on within our in- dividual programs and how cer-
tain players can influence your team in a real positive manner. "From the most experienced head coach to the newest coach, they all bring different things from parts of their career that can give you ideas and motiva- tion to bring to your team.'' On the surface, you wouldn't think Waite would have any- thing in common with wrestling coach Barry Davis. "I do have to
take a deep breath after I talk to Barry; he's so high energy,'' Waite kidded.
But they are kindred spirits. "Absolutely, I think we all
mesh well with each other,'' Waite said. "We relate to things even though we're in totally dif- ferent sports. We relate to things that make a difference in build- ing a team.''
Or rebuilding one.
