MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD | Wisconsin alumnus Matt Tegenkamp scored a 10th- place finish in the 10,000 meters Sunday at the 2011 IAAF World Championships in Athletics in Daegu, Korea. The former UW All-American was one of two U.S. athletes among the top 10 finishers, finishing in 28 minutes, 41.62 seconds.
MEN'S SOCCER | Junior Kyle McCrudden scored the season's first goal in Wisconsin's 1-0 win over
Western Illinois on Saturday. The goal came in the 68th minute of UW's first match of the season and helped head coach John Trask win his second straight season-opener.

LABAHN ARENA | The Tetris-like installation of BubbleDeck was com- pleted last week at La Bahn Arena and is being used as the ceiling for the underground hockey locker rooms. The environmentally-friendly construction tech- nique is a first for building projects in the United States. Concrete has been poured over the BubbleDeck to form the pedestrian plaza between the Kohl Center and LaBahn Arena.
