'' BADGERS Ask The What is your Wisconsin football game day ritual? Question of the Week: MICHAEL WEISS • SENIOR • MEN'S SWIMMING "Wisconsin football game days are by far my favorite day of the week. They all start with a brutal Saturday morning workout, which leads to us coming home and having a big cook out with lots of food. Then we play games and listen to music until its game time when we walk over to the stadium together and watch the Badgers do work!" J.D. WISE • SENIOR • MEN'S BASKETBALL "If we don't have an early workout, whoever gets up first usually runs around and wakes everybody else. Then we get all of our game day accessories to- gether – sunglasses, headbands, leg sleeves, basically anything to contribute to the sea of red. We usually go with the same group – Jared Berggren, Dan Fahey, Ben Brust and Josh Gasser (pictured) – and find some friends who are grilling out and listening to a DJ. And of course we have to get into as many games of catch with a football as we can find." LAUREN GUNDERSON SENIOR • WOMEN'S SOCCER "Being from the area, I am a born badger fan and attended al- most every home football game growing up. My parents host a fun tailgate before each game with family friends and I bring a bunch of the soccer girls to join. I am so glad to have extended my badger pride as a part of the UW, and am able to share these traditions with the rest of my teammates." ANNMARIE BROWN SOPHOMORE • WOMEN'S BASKETBALL "My Wisconsin Badger game day tradition begins with waking up early and throwing on my red & white pinstripe overalls and zubaz themed snap- back. You have to own the look of being a true badger on game day. I love college football so I turn on college game day to get the need to know and hyped for the badger game. Next on the list is some pre game tailgating festivities. Grilling out, back- yard games, and getting pumped with my fellow UW students. Then it's about time to head to Camp Randall and get ready for kickoff! 20 » VARSITY SEPTEMBER 13, 2012
