Wisconsin wins despite struggles with shooting
BY DIANE NORDSTROM @BADGERWBB
A
fter losing four straight
games with only two
players scoring in
double figures, the Badgers
"Big Four" showed up on Feb.
2, snapping that losing streak
and handing Ohio State an 82-
71 loss.
Wisconsin's top four scorers
all hit in double figures against
the Buckeyes as Jacki Gulc-
zynski and Michala Johnson
shared game-high honors with
21 points. Taylor Wurtz added
17 points and Morgan Paige
chipped in 12.
"I thought our top four scor-
ers really showed up. Taylor
had a nice game, Mick, Jacki,
and Morgan, they were all in
double figures," head coach
Bobbie Kelsey said. "Jacki and
Mickey had double-figure re-
bounding numbers, as well."
GULCZYNSKI KEYS WIN
● Junior Jacki Gulczynski tied her career
best with 15 rebounds against Ohio
State on Sunday. It was her second-
straight game with double-figure re-
bounds after recording a game-high
11 boards at Michigan State on Jan.
30. Gulczynski now has 10 or more
rebounds in five games this season.
She also shared game-high honors
with 21 points, recording her fourth
double-double of the season and 10th
of her career.
The 6-1 forward was 4 of 5 from
3-point range, tying a UW individual
single-game high for the season. She
also added a game-high four blocked
shots.
BADGERS END SCORING SLUMP
● Wisconsin broke a three-game scor-
ing slump by scoring 82 points vs.
Ohio State on Sunday. The 82 points
were the second highest for the Bad-
gers this season, ranking behind the
85 points scored in their season open-
er at Milwaukee on Nov. 14.
UW has also shot well its last two
games, hitting better than 47 percent
from the field. The Badgers hit 48.1
percent (26 of 54) against at Michi-
