The Badgers turned in a .327 hit- ting percentage, their fourth-best av- erage on the year, outblocked their opponent for the 16th time this sea- son, held the Wolverines to a .144 (35- 19-111) hitting percentage and kept Michigan from running its offense with five service aces, including four from Hickey.

first things the Badgers said after snapping a four-match losing streak with a win over Michigan on Sunday was "What a relief!"

the Wolverines, who entered the match receiving votes in the national coaches' poll. "It's what we've always been capable of," said UW coach Pete Waite after the match. "It was the consistency we're looking for in the passing, the defense, the attack percent- ages and that made for a good afternoon for us."
"I told the team after the match given the losses we've taken, had we played like that, we'd get wins in those matches," said Waite. "That's what we're looking to do as we work after this match."
Moving on up » Junior Annemarie Hickey has moved into eighth on the UW ca- reer list for digs with 1,113. The 5-foot-8 libero needs just six digs to move into seventh. Hickey also ranks fourth in digs per set with 3.81.
Sophomore Courtney Thomas
has moved into 10th on the UW ca- reer list for assists with 1,348. The 6-0 setter also moved into eighth in assists per set with 7.41.
