NICK TOON & RUSSELL WILSON "A lot of teams wanted to know about our play- calling and how quick- ly I learned the offense here,'' Wilson said. "Knowing I learned it all in three weeks fired up some teams.'' "We've talked a lot about footwork and balance and having a great foundation for throwing. One of my favorite players is Drew Brees. I've watched tons of film on him and how he moves his feet.'' By all accounts, Wilson graded out well "I didn't have any crazy questions; I don't have any horror stories for you,'' he said. "I was pre- pared for all the questions that I received. I met with a bunch of teams and it went very well.'' Nick Toon is being represented by Jeff Sper- beck (the NOVO Agency) and Ralph Cindrich, who was also Al Toon's agent with the Jets. Wil- son has signed with Bus Cook. Yes, the same Bus Cook whose client list has included Brett Favre, Jay Cutler and Cam New- ton. "Haven't met him (Favre) yet,'' Wilson said. "I'd be excited to meet him at some point, though.'' Wilson has been training in Florida under the IMG guidance of Chris Weinke, the former Toronto Blue Jays minor leaguer and the 2000 Heisman Trophy winner at Florida State. "He has an unbelievable knowledge of the game and understanding of the quarterback po- sition,'' Wilson said of Weinke, who worked with Newton and Christian Ponder last year. 38 ยป VARSITY MARCH 1, 2012 at the combine.
