Which comes first? Player development or team development? In Colorado there is no chicken and the egg debate, these elements coexist and are happening day in and day out. The player makes the team, the team creates the environment and the environment pushes development. Two players have been recognized as making the most out of the environment created at Colorado Rush. Luke Hansen (2001) has had a whirlwind year as a result of his inclusion in our na onal team program. Luke is eligible to play with the U14 Development Academy team this coming year but played U16 Academy last year! In this last year alone, in addi on to his academy travel, Luke has traveled the country from California to Florida and has ventured the world traveling to Spain, Croa a and Argen na (the la er with id2). Griffin Dorsey (1999) is in Sweden right now represen ng our country at the U18 level at the Nordic Cup. Griffin played U14 Academy last year making appearances with the 16's. This year Griffin played U16 but when the U18 team qualified for the playoffs Griffin played double duty and played both U16 and U18. In the process, against some of the toughest teams in the country, Griffin was on fire scoring five goals and assis ng on three others. The federa on took no ce and made the call. In Sweden, Griffin will play against the Faroe Islands, Iceland and Sweden and will represent his country for the first me.Colorado Rush takes great pride in what these players, and others soon to follow, have accomplished. It is these players who create the condi ons to allow great things to happen. The Colorado Rush Development Academy training consistently produces nationally competitive teams. As a result, individual players are now benefitting and being recognized.
