This is a great success for the club because this means that is growing thanks to the job we are doing in player development here in México. It has been a long year since we started training the teams for the tournament and results arrive at the end of the tournament, both teams finished in third place but more than that, the players faced a great challenge for them because for most of them is their first interna onal appearance and the behave just like very experienced players with a great personality, passion and great way of play. For the U11´s the challenge was bigger, because we took some players that were one year and a half younger than the bigger ones. Parents and players had great me at this event. They learned a lot from this experience and both of them showed what we can do in Mexico both on and off of the field with a great behavior, suppor ng the teams at all mes and enjoying the play on the field. U11´s finished with 2 wins, 1 e and 1 lost. U12's finished with 1 win, 2 es and 1 loss. These numbers reflect the great effort our teams showed but most of all their quality with the ball and the discipline we are trying to teach in every single player. For the Club is a great sa sfac on to see our players grow and learn more of this game. We have now started working to plan the next season for Denver CUP 2016. For the third year in a row, Merida RUSH Soccer Club is present at Denver CUP 2015 but now with two teams. It is the second year or par cipa on for clubs such as Merida Rush and Elmer Marin Rush and they love it. The experience for the kids and parents is incomparable. "It doesn't ma er the work we need to put into this. We do it because we love soccer, we do it because it is good for the kids, we do it because the kids enjoy being part of Rush," Elmer Marin said. Elmer Marin Rush BU18 played in the top bracket where they lost in the final vs Rush Pikes Peak 2-0. "This past version of the Denver Cup was one of the best tournaments we have ever played," Giancarlo Salazar (Merida) said. Merida Rush brought 2 teams (BU11 and BU12 gold bracket) they both ended up taking third place. Also a ending this year was special guest, Academia de Futbol Mar n Garcia, from Cusco, Peru. It was their first year playing in an interna onal event and they took 4th place. "Many coaches and spectators were impressed with the level of soccer these kids played, but the hot weather and lack of subs tu ons played a role in their performance," Coach Mar n Garcia said. The Academia de Futbol Mar n Garcia is located in Cusco- Peru (called also the belly bu on of the world). Cusco has an eleva on of 3,400 meters above sea level. 4 hours away from Downtown Cusco you can see one of the Wonders of the World (Machu- Picchu). "We are very excited to have a team from South America playing in our tournament and we are looking forward to having them as one more partner of our organiza on," commented South America Technical Director Jair Vasquez. Denver Cup is a good showcase for our teams in Latino America. Academia de Futbol Martin Garcia (Cusco – Peru), Elmer Marin Rush (Honduras) and Merida Rush (Mexico) were part of this great event this year.
