Grant- ed, she did post 40-plus goals in her sophomore and junior seasons, which makes her 28 goals so far this season look like a regression. However, many don't re- alize that Knight has found herself in a new role this sea- son, asked to play center on the second line in order to help ampli- fy the team's offensive depth. She has "sacrificed" her stats in order to help those around her score, which Knight recognizes as a must if the team wants to win the big prize at the end of the season. Plus, statistics are not the sole de- termining factor in deciding a Ka- zmaier winner. If you look at the top five career points leaders in NCAA Division I history, only one has won the Patty Kaz. That's why Knight still makes a strong candidate for the award. Her off-the-ice contributions and ability to make her teammates better are second to none. Saturday's game live on BTN » Saturday's matchup with Ohio State at the Kohl Center will be aired live nationally on BTN, with Dan Kelly, Laura Halldorson and Jay Williams handling the call.
