The program also is working to establish a chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants at Notre Dame. And the Big Four accounting firm Ernst & Young has pledged to recruit 10 top-notch diversity candidates from its ranks to complete the open-enrollment program beginning with the Class of 2013. The new E&Y program builds on a long-time successful relationship with MSA. For 12 years ending in 2011, the firm sent employees, many of whom had not majored in accounting in college, to earn their master's in accountancy at Notre Dame. This stand-alone program for E&Y employees was carried out over two summers of study with distance-learning courses in between. from left: Julie Phillips, associate director, MSA program, with Sandra Nazareth and Mark Bauters, both MSA Class of 2012 Employment distribution (Class of 2010) WEST 6% MIDWEST EAST SOUTHWEST WEST UNDECIDED 18 43% 28% 17% 1% 5% Placement by sector (Class of 2011) BIG FOUR 68% OTHER PUBLIC ACCOUNTING FIRMS 19% INDUSTRY CONSULTING 5% 2% NOT-FOR-PROFIT/OTHER 1% UNDECIDED 5% MS Accountancy
