The local scouts for Zambia iden fied him during the district under 14 tournaments that had a racted over 90 children. The a ributes that he possesses made Rush right away engage the parents and the former club. The boy has been with us for the last four years. in 2014, the na onal team iden fica on program, conducted by na onal team coaches, had over three thousand children par cipate. Jonathan was amongst the final 26 who were taken into camp for a month. The junior bullets now are two games away from qualifying to the under 17 africa Cup of na ons. Coaches receive Hat-Trick training Zambia Rush through its outreach ini a ve called Malalo (Bridges) Sports Founda on in collabora ons with Coaches across Con nents are holding coaching courses. The coaching courses were held in Chililabombwe and Chingola between July 12-19. The Coaches across Con nents sent five volunteers from United States of america and Scotland to conduct the courses in: Soccer Skills for life promo ng self- direc ng learning, Soccer for health and wellness, including HiV behavior change, Soccer for Health empowerment including gender equity, Soccer for Conflict resolu on including social inclusion, soccer for fun, child rights educa ons. 53 coaches were trained, three of whom were women. The coaches have a combined popula on of one thousand five hundred children of which less than a hundred are girls. The hat trick ini a ve shall run for three years. in giving a vote of thanks the konkola Copper Mines Sports coordinator Fredrick Bwalya thanked Rush and the Coaches across Con nents for the ini a ve. Our ambi on for Sept, 2014 is to con nue giving good guidance to our players and staff through correct informa on, educa on and challenging sessions. Our players have benefi ed from this approach very quickly grasping both the technical and simple tac cal work presented to them. as such we are seeking to get out to all of the primary schools in our area and approach each Principal to promote our philosophy via PTa mee ngs to add to our player pool.
