Four UW athletics pro-
grams were publically
recognized this month
for posting outstanding
Academic Progress Rate
scores for the 2012-13
academic year. Men's
cross country, women's
golf and women's ten-
nis all posted perfect
scores of 1,000, while
the football program's
score of 989 ranked
No. 3 nationally behind
only Duke (996) and
Northwestern (991).
The women's cross
country team boasts
the highest cumula-
tive GPA of any Wis-
consin team at 3.28.
The men's tennis team's
cumulative GPA of 3.18
is the highest of any
men's team.
By the end of the sum-
mer term, a total of
142 Badgers student-
athletes will have
received their diplomas
in 2013-14.
Over the past nine
semesters, UW
student-athletes
have combined to
post a cumulative
grade-point
average of 3.00.
UW student-athletes
appeared at 278 dif-
ferent events during
the 2013-14 academic
year, combining to
volunteer a total of
8,086 hours as part
of the Badgers Give
Back program. That's
a 190% increase over
the 4,185 hours volun-
teered in 2012-13.
