"HISTORICALLY, YOU LOOK AT SEC TEAMS
AND PEOPLE EXPECT THEM TO ROLL
OVER BIG TEN TEAMS," KELLY SAID. "BUT
THERE'S A LOT OF MOTIVATION THERE
TO SAY, 'NOT THIS TIME."'

Beach, Ga., is the winningest (26-5 as a starter) and
most accurate (.647 career completion percentage)
quarterback in South Carolina history. Not only has
he passed for 5,762 yards and 53 scores, but he has
rushed for 1,636 yards and 16 touchdowns.
There's a good news/bad news scenario for Wisconsin. The Gamecocks are winless this season
when Shaw has been intercepted. The bad news?
He has been picked off just once ― by freshman
Cameron Sutton in Tennessee's 23-21 upset of
South Carolina. "Great play by the corner," Shelton
said.
Before Sutton's interception, Shaw had gone a
school-record 177 passes without throwing one.
Dating back to his junior year, he has just that one
pick in his last 301 throws. Through his first three
years with the Gamecocks, he had 32 touchdown
passes. By contrast, he has 21 in 12 games this season.
"He (Shaw) reminds me of (UW linebacker) Chris
Borland as far as what Chris gives us (leadership)
― he's very similar that way," Aranda said. "He wills
that team to win. They believe in him and they play
hard for him. He's a guy who wants the ball when
the game is on the line.
"There are countless times where you think
you've got him and you don't have him and he converts and it's a huge third down or it's a huge gain
or it's a touchdown. It's something that he has done
over and over and over again against good people.
He has our attention for sure."
So does South Carolina running back Mike Davis,
who has rushed for 1,134 yards on the strength of
seven games of 100-plus yards. "He's a physical,
downhill runner," Shelton said. "He doesn't really
cut, doesn't really shake a lot. He just likes to go
downhill to pick up most of his yards."
The X-factor for Wisconsin will likely be safety
Michael Caputo, who didn't play against Penn State
