BOWLING OVER THE HURRICANES
CHAMPS SPORTS BOWL − DECEMBER 29, 2009: John Clay had 121 yards rushing and
two touchdowns, powering No. 24 Wisconsin past 14th-ranked Miami 20-14 in the Champs
Sports Bowl on Dec. 29, 2009. Clay ran through, over and around the Hurricanes to help the
Badgers earn their first victory over a ranked opponent during the 2009 season. Scott Tolzien
threw for a career-high 260 yards, and Montee Ball added 61 yards rushing for Wisconsin.

CAPITAL ONE BOWL − JANUARY 2, 2006: Junior RB Brian Calhoun rushed for 213
yards and a touchdown, and junior QB John Stocco threw for 301 yards and two scores,
as Wisconsin defeated seventh-ranked Auburn 24-10 in the Capital One Bowl at Citrus
Bowl Stadium on Jan. 2, 2006. The Badgers amassed 548 yards of total offense against
a Tigers team that entered the contest allowing just 294.09 yards per game, ninth best
nationally. They did it behind Calhoun, who became just the second player in Division
I-A history to record 1,500 yards rushing and 500 yards receiving in the same season.
MVP PERFORMANCE
CAPITAL ONE BOWL − JANUARY 1, 2007: Wisconsin won its school-record 12th game
of the season and the 2007 Capital One Bowl with a 17-14 win over Arkansas at Florida
Citrus Bowl Stadium on Jan. 1, 2007. Quarterback John Stocco, who missed the final
two games of the regular season, returned to the field for his final game in a Badger
uniform and was named the most valuable player. Stocco completed 14 of his 34 passing attempts for 206 yards and two touchdowns. He finished second to Darrell Bevell
among Wisconsin's all-time leaders in passing yards, pass attempts, pass completions,
completion percentage and passing touchdowns.
