Threatt joined the UW Athletic Hall of
Fame as a member of the Class of 2009
at that point when you were in college,'' she said,
"and you were seen as one of the select athletes and
you were invited to the Olympic trials.''
Beyond that, she said, "It wasn't something I
spent a lot of time thinking about or pondering or
dreaming about. I was one of the very few returning to college. For me that was an honor.''
In 1993, Wisconsin put together an All-American
nomination video for Threatt to drum up some attention nationally. To the backdrop of "Rockin
Robin'' it featured scoring highlights and sound
bites.
"I remember one of the things that I did state in
that video,'' she said, "was that when people think
about Wisconsin basketball I do want them to think
about Robin Threatt.
"That was important to me because I wanted to
leave an impression. I wanted to leave a footprint
of what good basketball looked like and what good
teams looked like.''
On March 7, 1993, Threatt drove the baseline

and scored against Purdue at the UW Field House.
The basket broke Theresa Huff's career scoring record of 1,879 points which was set 10 years earlier.
After the home finale, a disappointing 77-57 loss,
Wisconsin's seventh loss in a row, Threatt said,
"I'm happy that I broke the record and that I will
have left a mark here.
"But it's kind of hard to really appreciate it right
now because the season has been so frustrating;
the way we've played as a team and the things that
we haven't done well.''
Jogging her memory to cover all the ground between then and now – 20 years in all – Threatt reiterated, "I don't think that mark was extremely important to me. That's what records are there for.''
To be broken. "Aside from being the all-time
leading scorer,'' she went on, "I think it was also
important to look at the total package and impression that I was leaving behind at the school."
It's a most lasting one, even today as she's driven
to get back into the game, any game.
