E
ven playing with only
nine athletes for most
of the season, the Badgers
havent given up and continues to battle. As coach Bobbie
Kelsey is fond of saying, We
dont have a lot, but we have
enough.

Wisconsins 4-9 non-conference record in 2011-12, the
Badgers equaled their overall win total from 2011-12
with a win over Ohio State on
Jan. 20, their first over the
Buckeyes in 12 years and 20
games.
Weve surprised ourselves
with perseverance through
adversity, Kelsey said. Peo-

Wisconsin pulled off what may be
the biggest womens basketball upset
of the season with a 63-61 victory over
No. 7 Penn State on Jan. 31. The win
marked the highest ranked team UW
has beaten since downing No. 5 Baylor in 2008. It was also Penn States
only Big Ten loss of the season.
UW won its 11th game of the season
against Indiana on Feb. 10, surpassing last seasons nine-win total.
With only nine players, the Badgers
have had to rely on their starters to
play a lot of minutes. All five starters
average more than 32 minutes a game.
Kelsey has been adamant about her
team not dwelling on what it doesnt
have. I think they understand that
we cant worry about what we dont
have, she said. Lets worry about
what we do have. If we harp on who
cant play, well, they still cant play
and you are still upset about it.
