24 Exterior Materials The site is surrounded by an eclec c mix of buildings—old and new, publicly and privately owned. The building's exterior materials have been selected to harmonize and unify the architectural language in the immediate vicinity, simultaneously conveying a sense of respect for context and an an cipa on of great things to come. Red brick is ver cally ar culated on the east and west sides of the facility, referencing neighboring brick buildings to the east and west. Various metals are used in both common and unconven onal ways. Zinc les on the Marshall Street 'bar' evoke textures from mansarded buildings in the vicinity. Cladding the low volume along the northern edge of the site, a metal panel system echoes the architectural treatment on the south-facing Marshall Street façade. Accent materials are used strategically and sparingly on the exterior. Perforated metal sunshades are mounted ver cally at south- facing windows to provide solar-shading and glare-control. Perforated metal is also u lized above the main entry, providing a dynamic and engaging focal point for arriving occupants and visitors. Brick and slate wrap the ground floor film rooms, adding a sense of refinement to the pedestrian experience of the streetscape.
