WHEN
C. Vivian Stringer led the University of Iowa women's basketball team from 1983-95,
winning 269 games, six Big Ten tles, and advancing to nine straight NCAA Tourna-
ments, including an appearance in the 1993 Final Four. Stringer squared off against
her former team Jan. 4 in Piscataway, New Jersey, where the 20th-ranked Hawkeyes
downed the 16th-ranked Scarlet Knights, 79-72, for their fi h straight victory.
