GOING THE DISTANCE
Selvie Washington set the Badgers’ single-game kickoff return record with a 42.7-yard average, as the Badgers upset No. 4 Nebraska, 21-20, at Camp Randall Stadium. The game marked the last time the teams met, as UW improved to 2-3 all-time against the Huskers, dating back to 1901. Nebraska travels to Madison on Oct. 1 for its inaugural Big Ten game.

HELPING OUT: Kevin Kulby, of the UW men’s soccer team, tied the school’s individual scoring record for most assists in a single game with four against UW-Platteville.

BACKED INTO A CORNER: The Badger women’s soccer team tied a McClimon Track/Soccer Complex record with 14 corner kicks against Cincinnati. In 2009, the Badgers broke the mark — and set an NCAA record in the process — with 23 corner kicks in a 1-0, double-overtime win over in-state rival Green Bay.
