Not surprisingly, the Friends of Finance team has lined up an impressive roster of speakers for the year ahead. It's amazing to look back on the history of this group and how much it has evolved since that first meeting at First National Bank in 1985. The success of Friends of Finance also highlights the lasting relationship the College has forged with our local business community. I am continually impressed by the college's foresight in adapting its programs to keep pace with trends in the marketplace. Our MIS degree was established in 1982 and has expanded as technology and business needs continue to progress. As you'll see from the four alumni profiled, our program and its outstanding faculty equip students for flexible careers in a multitude of industries. The success of our energy programs also reflects TU's commitment to estab - lishing a strong presence in the energy industry. Our exceptional faculty, location in the heart of America's energy capital and progressive curriculum have made TU a top destination for both undergraduate and graduate students seeking energy degrees. Creating the School of Energy Economics, Policy and Commerce represents yet another milestone in the history of our energy program. It's not too early to start making plans to join us for this year's Homecoming festivities, which start October 15. The Collins College of Business will host an open house on Friday as well as our annual tailgate before Saturday's football game against the University of South Florida. It promises to be a lively atmosphere for recon - necting with former classmates before cheering on our Golden Hurricane as TU marks its first season as part of the American Athletic Conference. I'm eager to see what this year will bring and how our students, faculty and alumni will continue to showcase all that the Collins College of Business has to offer. It's a privilege to join my fellow Executive Advisory Board members during this time of progress at TU.
