Jordy Albert and MacKenzie Ward and faculty adviser Claire Cornell for their outstanding work developing Owlpal, an app that diagnoses and monitors asthma in children at night. TU is proud to support the men and women who serve our country. With generous support from our administration, the university partici - pates in the Yellow Ribbon Program, which covers private school tuition for veterans pursuing a college degree following active service duty. The program has made it possible for the four veterans profiled in this issue to begin new careers in fields like energy management and MIS following successful military careers. We are grateful to the alumni, corporations and friends of TU who give generously of their time, talents and resources to ensure the Collins College of Business upholds its spot as one of the top business schools in the nation and that our students gain an educational experience matched by few universities. These investments make an impact that will last for generations to come. Sincerely, A. Gale Sullenberger Dean, Collins College of Business Reflecting on the 2013-2014 academic year, the accomplish- ments of our students and alumni have demonstrated yet again that the Collins College of Business delivers the right combination of innovative curriculum and hands-on experience to compete and succeed in a business climate marked by rapid change. With the support of faculty, alumni and the business community, our students leave TU not only with a top education, but also with practical know-how gained through opportunities like developing and pitching winning business plans in the statewide Governor's Cup competition, participating in a national commodities trading challenge and experiencing an international offshore decommis - sioning effort firsthand. This year was especially noteworthy for the college, as you will read in the following pages. For the fourth year in a row, the Collins College of Business has earned national recognition as a Top 100 business school for both undergraduate and graduate business programs. In addition, the undergraduate accounting program was ranked sixth, and the Collins College of Business ranked No. 1 in best financial aid among top business schools by Bloomberg Businessweek. Our energy programs have grown significantly since the energy management major was launched in the fall of 2007, followed by the energy minor in 2010 and the online master of energy business in 2012. We have added several full-time faculty members with an in-depth knowledge of the energy industry to accommodate the continued growth in enrollment. To further focus on our energy programs, I am pleased to announce that the college has created a new academic unit: the School of Energy Economics, Policy and Commerce. You can read more about the new school on page 7. Once again, TU teams took top honors at the statewide Donald W. Reynolds Governor's Cup business plan competition, advancing to the tri-state awards competition in Las Vegas to face winning teams from Oklahoma, Arkansas and Nevada. For the first time since we have competed at the tri-state level, a TU team won first place.
