ASK THE BADGERS
QUESTION OF THE WEEK:
Which Big Ten opponent is your
team's biggest rival?
ANNEMARIE HICKEY // SENIOR // VOLLEYBALL
Minnesota. They are a great program and always a team
we want to beat. Plus they are our Border Battle school
and travel partners. We want to win against everyone but
a win against Minnesota is always special!
NICK JANUS // SENIOR // MEN'S SOCCER
"I think Indiana is our biggest Big Ten rival. They are always
such a good team and in my three years here we have drawn
even with them on goals and wins, so this year is going to be a
very competitive game. Also we were recruited by Coach (Todd)
Yeagley so we always have that motivation to win against them.
And with our current head coach (John Trask) being an Indiana
alum, there's going to be a competitiveness to always do well."
GENEVIEVE RICHARD // JUNIOR // WOMEN'S SOCCER
"With our Big Ten schedule around the corner, we actually
talked about this at the beginning of the week. We couldn't
come up with any one team in particular but we settled on
Penn State just because they've been the model of consistency in the Big Ten and they're the defending conference
champs so they're in a position we want to be in."
JOSH GASSER // JUNIOR // MEN'S BASKETBALL
"I would say Michigan State is our biggest rival. Both teams
have been atop the league for more than a decade and always seem to play competitive, physical games against each
other. Coach Bo Ryan and Coach Tom Izzo are two of the
best in the country and really add to the environment."
