It did not stop there. Head coach Adia Barnes had her squad firing on all cylinders by the end of the season, leading the team to its first posteason appearance since 2011, its first postseason victory since 2005 and its first postseason title since 1996, winning the WNIT in front of a Pac-12 record crowd. • Arizona returns one of the most prolific scorers in Wildcat and Pac-12 Conference history in Aari McDonald, an All-American candidate. McDonald's impact as one of the top-three scorers in the country last season gave UA a consistent scoring threat as the team averaged nearly 10.0 more points per game than the previ- ous season (57.9 ppg in 2017-18 vs. 68.0 ppg in 2018-19). • While McDonald receives a lot of credit for her offense, she also contributed immensely on the boards and on defense. She led the team in rebounding average in league play and ranked second in all games. She was also named to the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team. • The Wildcats return all five starters from last season's team, including junior Sam Thomas, who provides versatility and contributes in several areas on the court. A forward, she played the second-most minutes on the team behind McDonald. • The program's first-ever McDonald's All-American out of high school, Cate Reese made an immediate im- pact in her collegiate debut. She was the team's leading rebounder and her inside presence allowed for the Wildcats to improve on the boards from the previous season by over 3.0 rebounds per game. • UA adds seven newcomers, including graduate transfer Amari Carter who brings with her experience from playing at Penn State. Five of the additions are international signees with extensive international experience. Year School Overall Conf.
