As chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee of the TU Board of Trustees, Fisher has established design standards that have governed the university's physical growth. In addition to being a member of the board since 1991, Fisher is also a member of TU's prestigious Circle Society. In 2002, he received the J. Paschal Twyman Award for his many outstanding contributions and continued commitment to the university. At a dinner held in Fisher's honor, L. Duane Wilson, chairman of TU's Board of Trustees, recognized Fisher's legacy to the university. In return, Fisher thanked many others for his achievements including family members, TU administrators, Robert and Roxana Lorton as well as the late Charles Norman, who originally asked Fisher to chair the Building and Grounds Committee. Fisher credited his success to former TU board chairman, the late Fulton Collins, saying Collins "inspired all of TU's family, especially me." Fisher now lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and is chairman, chief executive officer and president of FisherCorp Inc. Previously, he was the owner of Miss Jackson's in Utica Square.
