Ethridge is considered among the best players in women's basketball history, winning the sport's top honors as a player and earning a spot in the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame. • Ethridge's knowledge will be extremely valuable as she prepares and guides the 2018-19 Cougs. She has the benefit of welcoming back three talented starters, including Borislava Hristova who was an All-Pac-12 selection last year as a redshirt sophomore and as a freshman. She has been plagued by injuries in the last two seasons, but still managed to record the third-best scoring average in the Pac-12 last season. Her leadership will be key on a roster that is short on depth and high on youth. • Seniors Maria Kostourkova and Alexys Swedlund are the two lone seniors on the squad. Kostourkova had a big presence in the paint as one of the top shot blockers in the Conference and Swedlund was a threat from long range. • Of the 11 players on the roster, five are freshmen or redshirt freshmen, including Chanelle Molina's sisters Celena and Cherilyn, which brings a unique dynamic to the squad. Chanelle came back from a season- ending injury to earn a spot in the starting lineup. The trio were their home state's top talents with Cherilyn garnering Gatorade Player of the Year honors twice. • WSU has significant losses in Pinelopi Pavlopoulou, Louise Brown, Nike McClure and Caila Hailey. With many roles left to be filled, WSU's success will hinge on how quickly the veterans take to Ethridge's system and how quickly the newcomers can acclimate to the collegiate game.
