2012-13 Liberty University lady flames basketball Sarah Boruta is in her second season on the Liberty women's basketball staff as director of operations. In that role, she is responsible for the daily operations of the program, including the logistics of game-day management, coordination of managers' duties, team travel arrangements, and scheduling of games. Boruta spearheads the Lady Flames' social media efforts on Facebook and Twitter. She also oversees some of the team's outreach activities, including community service events, pregame clinics, and summer camps. Before arriving at Liberty, Boruta spent three years (2008-09 through 2009-11) at Stanford, where she was promoted from video intern to director of basketball communication and video. She also previously spent three years (2005-06 through 2007-08) as the director of women's basketball operations at Ferris State. "I came to Liberty seeking for a new opportunity and challenge," stated Boruta. "I enjoy working for a program and campus that shares my Christian beliefs." "We are excited to have someone with such character as Sarah who is driven to honor God with the skills and talents she has been given," added Green. "She has established herself as an excellent worker, serving those around her in an exceptional way." Boruta served in many different roles at Stanford, including coordinating team travel and video exchange. She also spearheaded the team's social media efforts, as well as the Cardinal's game-day promotions and group events. While Boruta was at Stanford, the Cardinal saw an 18 percent increase in overall attendance and a 340 percent increase in student attendance. At Ferris State, Boruta organized the Bulldogs' summer camps and clinics, while coordinating video exchange. She also designed marketing and promotional materials for the team. Boruta has worked with some successful teams, including three straight Stanford squads which reached the Final Four of the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship. He played both offensive and defensive line and was a two-year co-captain at Fairmont State, who was NAIA National Champions in 1967. In 2003, the school honored Williams by inducting him into the Fairmont State College Athletic Department Hall of Fame. Williams also was an All-West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selection. He played high school football at South Charleston High School in South Charleston, W.Va., where he lettered all four years. Williams graduated from Fairmont State in 1968 with a degree in biology and physical education.
