Deserving inductees
More than 600 people crammed the floor of the UW Field House to honor 10 years of wom- en's participation in athletics at UW. Kit Saunders-Nordeen and former UW and Olympic rower Carie Graves were inducted into the newly initiated Women's Athletics Hall of Fame.
October 28, 1997 GROUNDWORK: Workers poured the floor of the Kohl Center in one continuous sheet. Underneath the 463 cubic yards of concrete are 11 miles of coolant pipes for the hockey ice.

BACK-TO-BACK 100 YARD GAMES: Chris Chambers recorded 191 receiving yards in the Badgers' 13-7 win at Iowa. Chambers became the first receiver in the Alvarez era to go over 100 yards in consecutive games.
October 31, 1997 TAKING DOWN NO. 1: The Wisconsin volleyball team defeated No. 1-ranked Penn State, 15-11, 15-7, 6-15, 15-5 at the UW Field House.
