THIS WEEK IN BADGER HISTORY Carie Graves and Dr. Kit Saunders-Nordeen were the first inductees into the women's HOF. October 26, 1984 Deserving inductees More than 600 people crammed the floor of the UW Field House to honor 10 years of wom- en's participation in athletics at UW. Kit Saunders-Nordeen and former UW and Olympic rower Carie Graves were inducted into the newly initiated Women's Athletics Hall of Fame. October 28, 1997 GROUNDWORK: Workers poured the floor of the Kohl Center in one continuous sheet. Underneath the 463 cubic yards of concrete are 11 miles of coolant pipes for the hockey ice. ALSO THIS WEEK October 28, 2000 BACK-TO-BACK 100 YARD GAMES: Chris Chambers recorded 191 receiving yards in the Badgers' 13-7 win at Iowa. Chambers became the first receiver in the Alvarez era to go over 100 yards in consecutive games. October 31, 1997 TAKING DOWN NO. 1: The Wisconsin volleyball team defeated No. 1-ranked Penn State, 15-11, 15-7, 6-15, 15-5 at the UW Field House. 62 ยป VARSITY OCTOBER 25, 2012
