"There's kind of a top half and a bottom half, and the bottom half is beating the top half on occasion so it's real tight," said Waite. "We want to be one of those teams knocking them off up top and work our way up the list."
Chapman brings the heat » Sophomore Ellen Chapman has been tearing it up on offense the last three matches, averaging 4.74 kills per set. The 6-4 outside hitter put away 20 kills at Iowa on Oct. 13, added a match-high 13 kills at Min- nesota on Oct. 17 and had a career- high 24 kills at Indiana last Friday. Chapman leads the Badgers
with 3.15 kills per set this season, tallying double-figures in 13 match- es this season. Her average in Big Ten matches goes up to 3.45 kills per set, which ranks ninth in the conference.
35 years in "The Barn" » The Badgers are celebrating 35 years of volleyball competition in the UW Field House this weekend. Sunday's match vs. Northwestern marks 35 years to the day that the first women's volleyball match was played in the Barn.
Wisconsin hosted the 1977 Big Ten Tournament in the Field House on Oct. 28-29, finishing with a 6-3 record for second place.
