The football team recorded its biggest comeback win in school history with a 35-34 victory over Missouri. The Badgers trailed 28-7 with 4:42 to play. Richard Johnson set the single- game blocked kicks record with three in the contest.

September 14, 1991 RETURN TO SENDER: Troy Vincent set the record for the best single-game punt return average against Western Illinois with 36.5 yards, inlcuding a 90-yard return for touchdown. The Badgers won, 31-13.
September 16, 1981 WINNING BIG: The women's soccer team defeated Beloit College 18-0 to record the most goals scored by a team in a single game and the biggest margin of victory. The win also marked the Badgers' first varsity win as a program.
September 20, 1986 GOAL TIMES 4: Andy Rectenwal of the men's soccer team set the individual scoring record for most goals in a game with four against Michigan.
