The Furman women's soccer team are goalkeeper Melissa Barnes; defenders Liz Bielefeld-Rowe, Bridgett Giles, Lauren Killey-Briles, and Laura Wise- Saunders; midfielders Kaye Brownlee, Katie Carson, Sarah Tollick, and Leah Versteegen; and forwards Melissa Sutton, Emily Turgeon, and Melissa Turner-Wilkinson. The team combined to earn four All-America honors, seven Scholar-Athlete All America citations, three freshman All- America awards, 21 All-South region picks, 28 first team All-Southern Conference selections, and seven second team All- Southern Conference honors. Furman graduates were the only players eligible for the team as no current Lady Paladins were considered. Goalkeeper Melissa Barnes ` 02, was program was started in 1994 and compiled a 130-71-10 record in its inaugural ten years. Six Southern Conference titles and three NCAA Tournament appearances highlight the Lady Paladins' first ten years of existence.
