ALUMNI Journal REMEMBERING OUR FRIENDS Connie (Kissinger) Frederick BA '71 died Aug. 23, 2010. While attending Anderson University, she met Glen Frederick BA '72. They married June 12, 1970. They celebrated the birth of twin girls in 1972 and moved to Littleton, Colo., where they resided until 1981 when they moved to Tucson. Connie owned Casas Adobes Flower Shop in Tucson with her brother, Rick Crause, for many years. She started singing at a young age. She had a beautiful soprano voice, which she often shared in church. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Heather, on March 19, 2001, as well as parents Clyde and Virginia Kissinger, brother Rodwyn Kissinger, and half brother Bradley Kissinger. In addition to her husband, Glen, she is survived by her daughter, Amy Frederick; brothers Gene Kissinger and Rick Crause; and half-brother Greg Kissinger. Mary M. (Cima) Miller BS '47 died March 23, 2011, in Anderson, Ind. She was married to Walter W. Miller '47, who worked at the Gospel Trumpet Company/Warner Press. Mary was a homemaker and full-time mother until 1967, when she began her teaching career in the West Central School Corporation/Frankton-Lapel Community Schools, retiring in 1987. She received a master's degree from Ball State University. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Russell E. Miller BA '75, MBA '02 and Denyse (Miller) Thorpe BA '74; three grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Norman Cima. She was preceded in death by a sister, June Olson BS '44. Her sister, Drucilla Bose BS '52, died Sept. 24, 2011 (see obituary below). Steven Bridges MBA '05 died April 12, 2011. He was living in Indianapolis. Alan McNeely '53 died June 21, 2011. He was a graduate of Warner Pacific University, earning degrees in Bible and music. He married Genevieve Madson in 1955. They had four children — Vickie Brough, Judy Oldham (now deceased), Gregg, McNeely, and Bonnie McCone. During his career, Alan worked at Massey Ferguson in Racine, Wis.; as a computer programmer and systems analyst for U.S. Bank and Benjamin Franklin in Portland, Ore.; and as a music minister with his wife. In addition to his wife and three of his children, Alan is also survived by a sister, Dorothy DeVolt; a brother, Errol McNeely; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean Crockett B? '?? died Aug. 5, 2011. Jean worked for Lennox International for more than 25 years in research and development and later as an IT engineer. He is survived by his mother, Ola G. Crockett; brother W. Dale Crockett; sisters Mavis R. Crockett, R. Len Crockett-Griffin, and V. Elaine Crockett; niece Dana R. Griffin; and a nephew, L. Reece Griffin. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Isom R. Crockett. Drucilla (Cima) Bose BS '52 died Sept. 14, 2011, in Indianapolis. Dru was active in drama during her years at Anderson University and was a resident of Morrison Hall during its inaugural year. She taught for Indianapolis Public Schools before becoming a full-time mother. She is survived by her children, Julie Todd and John Bose; one granddaughter; and a brother, Norman Cima. She was predeceased by her sisters, June (Cima) Olson BS '44 and Mary M. (Cima) Miller BS '47. Lois Leone (Mumford) Shackleton BTh '45 died Sept. 19, 2011. She married Loren Shackleton BTh '45 in 1934. Most of her life was spent as a wife, mother, and homemaker, and helping in the churches where her husband pastored. She also taught piano for many years. In her later years she served as church organist in the Tempe church. She worked for several years as proofreader for the Casa Grande Dispatch. Lois is survived by her children, Mary Lou (Shackleton) Coe '57, Thomas Loren Shackleton, and Philip Loyd Shackleton BA '73. She is also survived by her sister, Lillian Plahn; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Her husband preceded her in death on April 6, 1998. Janet Rose (Schrader) Linamen '54 died Oct. 5, 2011. Jan made Anderson her home after attending the university. Her passion from the time she was in grade school was to be a secretary. She gave The Christian Brotherhood Hour, Anderson Banking Company, World Service, and Schrader & Associates many years of dedicated service. Class Notes p a g e 34
