20th Reunion
Pediatrics residents from the classes
of 1992, 1993 and 1994 gathered
in Charlottesville in September to
reminisce. A tour of the recently opened
Battle Building at uVA Children's Hospital
was among the weekend's activities.
Bowman Award
In October, the 37th Annual Bowman
Award Dinner took place at the farmington
Country Club. Nearly 60 people attended
the dinner, including Bowman fund
university Trustees (current and emeritus),
former award recipients, clerkship
directors, and the five Bowman Scholars
for 2014: Rebecca Donald, Matthew Guess,
Brandon Hunter, yamil Selman and Kate
Willson. The scholars were each nominated
based on their excellent performance
during third-year clerkships. Rebecca
Donald was named the recipient of the
2014 Bowman Scholarship Award. Dr. Dick
Guerrant delivered the Bowman Lecture:
Impact of Early Life Enteropathy.
Family Day for the Class of 2018
The uVA Medical Alumni Association was pleased to host more than 80 first
year medical students and their families at this annual fall event, which offers
a fun and interactive look at the life of a uVA School of Medicine student.
Reception at AAMC Annual Meeting
In November, alumni, housestaff and faculty from the university of Virginia School of Medicine gathered at the
uVA Medical Alumni Association's cocktail reception during the Association of American Medical Colleges' Annual
Meeting in Chicago.
